Project Overview

A venue unlike any other.

Hard Rock Stadium is home to the Miami Dolphins — but it operates as far more than an NFL venue. The campus hosts the Miami Open tennis tournament, the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, college football, concerts, and some of the world's largest live events.

That operational complexity creates a security challenge that goes well beyond scale. The same infrastructure has to support everyday Dolphins operations, a 65,000-seat NFL game day, and a multi-day international motorsport event — each with fundamentally different security requirements, staffing models, and access control needs.

CTS was brought in to help lead the transformation of the stadium's physical security infrastructure — transitioning from legacy, on-premises systems toward an integrated, cloud-managed environment.

The Challenge

Security at the intersection of sport, entertainment, and scale.

The objective wasn't simply to replace equipment. It was to help create a unified security environment capable of supporting everyday operations and some of the world's largest live events.

Hard Rock Stadium operates as multiple environments within a single campus. In addition to Miami Dolphins operations, the venue hosts major international events including the Miami Open and Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.

That means security technology has to support dramatically different operating conditions while remaining reliable, accessible, and scalable.

Cloud-managed infrastructure was central to solving this — enabling centralized visibility, remote management, and the flexibility to scale access and monitoring for events of any size.

Project Scope

What the work involved.

The deployment encompasses approximately 850 cameras and 380 access-controlled doors, along with alarm, intercom, and supporting infrastructure. Our work has included:

Existing infrastructure documentation and mapping
Cloud security migration
Video surveillance
Access control
Alarm and intercom systems
Ethernet and fiber infrastructure
Long-range and elevated PTZ deployments
License plate recognition integrations
Security Operations Center improvements
Temporary and mobile security deployments
Support for major live events
